Supports and Advocacy for Young Adults in Transition (SAYAT)
In September, 1996, MHA was awarded a 3-year grant from HUD to provide outreach and intensive case management support services to young adults, who have multiple problems and are between 18-23 years of age. The program will be open to those individuals who have emotional problems combined with minor developmental disorders, serious learning disabilities, or low IQ and are deemed inelegible for the full array of services offered by County Mental Health Services or Golden Gate Regional Center. Up to 30 clients will be served annually. Two full-time case managers work to implement the program, the goal being to provide necessary support and assistance which allows these young adults to live as independently and successfully as possible.
