Seven single rooms


30% of an individual's adjusted gross income.


Individuals must be ambulatory.  All rooms are on the second floor.


Must be 18 years of age or older.

Type of Supervision:

On-site case manager available Monday through Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm.  Spring Street Shelter staff provide assistance at all other times.

Length of Stay:

On a month to month basis for up to 18 months.

Cooking and Household Responsibility:

Residents may join Shelter residents for breakfast and dinner, and may have their own microwaves in their rooms.  Each room has a small refrigerator.  Residents must keep their own rooms clean and all residents are responsible for cleaning of the shared living area.  On-site pay phone, business phone and free laundry facilities are available.


Residents are expected to arrange for their own transportation.  If needed, staff may provide assistance.  The facility is within four blocks of a bus stop.


A case manager works with residents to obtain financial benefits, medical and mental health treatment, permanent housing and other services as needed and appropriate.

Referral Process:

First priority is given to residents of the Shelter.  A telephone call followed by written referral is necessary.  Applicants will be invited for an interview with staff and residents prior to acceptance into the program.

Family Involvement:

Residents are asked to determine the level of family involvement they would like to have.  Staff encourage family to be involved as much as possible.
